This course discusses the accounting for agricultural and aquaculture industries. The important coverage includes application of related standards, guideline and acts and their effects on the financial statements. Emphasis will also be given to accounting issues related to the specified industries. Among the topics covered includes: accounting for agriculture- animals, accounting for agriculture-plantations, and accounting for aquaculture. Issues such as sustainability and accounting for social and environmental impacts of these industries will also be covered. Finally, the course provides analysis on the importance of financial statement to the users.

This course is a basic introduction to sailing activities which include the principles of good seamanship and safe boating. Students are required to practically rig and de-rig their sailboats by using some of the most useful nautical knots. Toward the end of this course student will be able to sail a dinghy in light to moderate wind conditions and pass a basic test including Tack, Gybe, Running. This course will also espose the students with a new approach of problem solving, team works and decision making.

This course introduces Dengue and Zika diseases which are caused by two viruses of the same family; Dengue virus and Zika virus. This course explains the biology of each viruses in terms of their structure, genome organization and replication strategy
in cellular hosts. Transmission of both Dengue and Zika viruses to susceptible individuals occurs through mosquitoes as an arthropod vector. Thus, factors correlating the mosquito biology, ecology and human behaviour may contribute to the dynamics
of dengue, which will be explained further in this course. The impact of both Dengue and Zika viral infections to human immune system resulting asymptomatic or severe clinical manifestations will also be discussed. Further, this course highlights
current lab diagnosis and treatment, as well as the progress of development of antiviral therapy and vaccine against both viruses.
This course explains the ecology, importance and expanse of estuaries and mangrove areas in the world, particularly in Malaysia. Specifically, the topics that will be discussed in this course cover the characteristics and types of estuaries and mangroves, as well as their adaptation, distribution, biological diversity, food network and nutrient cycle. This course is an advanced version of fish parasitology for the Fish Disease course and also, an elective course for the School of Fisheries and Aquaculture. Students are first taught the common parasites infecting fish. It
starts with fish protozoan ectoparasites: ciliates and flagellates which are found on gills and skin of fish host.

This course aims to familiarize the student with the principles of ornamental fish culture management, history and status of ornamental fish industry. This course also gives an introduction to basic concepts of aquarium science, species and variety of ornamental fish. The student will be learning the biological aspect of ornamental fish such as male-female determination, morphology and symptom of maturation, breeding techniques and larval rearing. The student will be provided with specific detail about aquarium set-up, filtration system, aeration and decoration that are useful in aquarium management. At the end of the course, the student will be able to apply information and practical experience in aquarium decoration, management, development, breeding and rearing of ornamental fish.
