It covers vessel design features, structural considerations, and stability fundamentals including transverse and longitudinal stability, trim, list, bending and shear forces, and external effects such as wind and turning moments. This course is designed to provide an understanding of the port system and the introduction to the components that are involved in operations in the port. It gives a full understanding about the interaction of the system with ‘inland’ components and their adjacent market. Priority will be given to the ability to change of port system in line with the dynamics of international trade.
